About the event
Seatrekking expedition in cooperation with our partner Pure Ocean Fund to raise awareness of ocean protection. For three days and two nights and a distance of 25 kilometers to cover, the team of volunteers monitored the entire coastline from Goudes to Cassis in the magnificent Parc des Calanques: picking up litter in the water along the coast in rarely supervised areas and by observing the biodiversity of the sea. The considerable quantity of waste, collected especially in the first part of the route, was given to the volunteers of Mer Terre for classification and recycling. Summary by Philippe Balch, organizer and guide of Seatrekking, on the last sections of the route: "Beautiful underwater faults, many white and yellow gorgonians in good condition, groupers in Port-Pin, but also invasive species of fish trumpets and peacock fins Rare waste between Sugiton and Port-Pin but presence of microplastics."
Despite the cold water and the headwind on certain parts of the course, the conditions remained excellent: sunny weather and visibility of more than 25 meters. During the nights, the team was hosted by our excellent captain Maxime on his private sailboat.
